Jo Abbott has extensive experience as a piano accompanist for soloists, choirs and theatre productions. Jo was awarded ‘Best Accompanist" in the National Liederfest Competition in 2015, ’Most Promising Accompanist in the National Liederfest Competition in 2014, and has been a finalist in the Margaret Nixon Accompanist Prize. Jo has worked with many soloists for their auditions, exams and recitals, including AMEB; VCA and University auditions. Jo has worked with many choirs, including Victoria Chorale; MGLC Choir; and Huntingtower School piano accompanist for HT Senior; Middle and Junior School choirs. Jo has performed and toured as pianist for theatre and circus productions including Arena Theatre Company; Circus Oz and Death by Soprano. A key strength in Jo's accompanist skills is her versatility in styles - Jo has worked to a high level in both classical and contemporary music genres. Jo has a Bachelor of Music degree (classical piano) from Qld Conservatorium; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance (VCA).
