The Capitol Theatre Orchestra perform a "Louis Armstrong Birthday Homage" at the Brunswick Ballroom, 314 Sydney Rd, Brunswick on Saturday 4th July at 2pm. The Capitol Theatre Orchestra is a Melbourne based 1920s-style jazz orchestra celebrating the joy of the Jazz Age. As the resident orchestra at the iconic Capitol Theatre, they bring authentic orchestral arrangements from the 20s and 30s to life. Full of joy and spirit, The Capitol Theatre orchestra welcomes audiences of all ages to experience and connect through live performance. Lomond Acoustica on Wednesday 8th July will feature two bands: Sanfona, followed by Yolanda Ingley II with special guests Steve Purcell and Peter Baylor. Sanfona play jazz infused with high energy improvisations, colourful melodies and toe-tapping grooves, transforming music by artists such as Richard Galliano, Django Reinhardt, Serge Luc and Ludovic Beier. Yolanda Ingley II is a Melbourne-based singer and songwriter known for her "smoky vocals" and music in the genres of blues, jazz, and soul. Sanfona trio perform at Bastille Festival Sydney! 🇫🇷 , Customs House on Sunday 19th July from 1 - 2pm .The trio will play jazz infused with high energy improvisations, colourful melodies and toe-tapping grooves, transforming music by French and European artists such as Richard Galliano, Django Reinhardt, Serge Luc and Ludovic Beier. Sanfona musicians Jo Abbott - accordion and Sean Nihill -trumpet will be joined by Sydney-based guitarist, Cameron Jones.specialising in authentic manouche jazz and French swing music. Having studied with leading European masters including Fapy Lafertin, David Reinhardt (grandson of Django Reinhardt) and Samy Daussat , Cameron brings rare authenticity and spontaneity to every performance harnessing the vibrancy of authentic manouche jazz.
