Melbourne based pianist/composer Jo Abbott has performed nationally and internationally at festivals and venues including Bennetts Lane Jazz Club; Melbourne Recital Centre; Paris Cat Jazz Club; Manchester Lane; Stonnington Jazz Festival; Eltham Jazz Festival; Pinnacles Jazz Festival (with “Artisans Workshop); “Circus Oz – Straight Up”, USA tour; “Live en Aout’ , New Caledonia; “Yana Alana – Between the Cracks” – Auckland International Cabaret Festival and Adelaide Fringe Festival; “Play Me, I’m Yours” – Opening Night Concert, Arts Centre, Melbourne; “Nicholas Cabaret Orchestra”;  and will in 2018 collaborate with  performer/writer Isabel Hertaeg’s “Death by Soprano” for a national Australian tour.

Jo’s mentor’s have since included Bob Sedergreen; Tim Stevens; Roger Frampton; Steve Sedergreen and vibraharpist Alan Lee, whom she collaborated with and recorded an album “Music of John Lewis”- Move Records [..a shimmering, uncluttered sound, with the Lewis penchant for swinging hard and classical influences in swell evidence.” Kenny Weir]
